A stage on the right, the world it produces on the left

MR Box · MR Factory

A hybrid stage, built to be replicated.

MR Box is the production system behind our own studios: real capture, virtual production and AI on a single stage, installed and operated together with regional partners. Scripted drama one week, live entertainment the next.

Why now

Three pressures are landing on broadcasters at once.

01 / Why nowLayer · Doc
3 pressures

Audience erosion

Share is moving to streaming platforms and social video. That shift is structural, not a bad season.

Production is changing faster than the rules

New methods arrive faster than the frameworks that are supposed to govern them, which makes committing to any one of them feel risky.

Unsettled ownership

Copyright, the provenance of training data and how to value a produced asset are still open questions across jurisdictions.

Marketvirtual production is estimated at $3.67B in 2026, growing to $7.75B by 2031. Source: Mordor Intelligence, not an MR Factory figure.

What it is

One stage that does not sit idle.

The same floor serves fiction, entertainment and news, which is what makes the economics work. Dynamic lighting turns a scene change from an hour into a couple of minutes, and the stage runs around the clock.

One stage

What gets installed

A stage, not a shopping list.

Cinema-grade capture, real-time rendering and the AI layer, specified to work as one system rather than as equipment bought separately and wired together afterwards.

What makes it work

The method, and the people who carry it.

The instruments change every few months. What makes a stage produce is the integration and the training behind it, so an installation comes with our people inside the operation until it runs on its own.

The thesis

Hybrid production moves six things at once.

Virtual production, AI generation and location shooting combined with one objective: improve every number that decides whether modern content pays.

6 at once

Quality

Greater creative range at lower cost, closing the gap with the highest-budget productions.

Cost

Virtual production on its own already saves against a traditional shoot, and the AI layer reduces further on top of that.

Speed

Dynamic lighting and continuous stage use turn scene changes of an hour into a couple of minutes.

Value creation

Every shoot doubles as dataset generation: digital twins that keep their value after the production wraps.

Ownership

Full chain of title on every asset, trained only on proprietary, contracted material.

Scale

The same stage serves fiction, entertainment and news, and the model replicates across markets.

Studio estimatethe savings above are MR Factory’s own modelling against a traditional shoot, with independent validation in progress.

The flywheel

Every shooting day is also a dataset.

This is the part that does not appear on an equipment invoice. Shoot more, own more data, and the next production costs less than the one before it.

Compounding

01

Shoot

A production day on the stage, delivered as usual.

02

Train

The same day produces training data nobody else has.

03

Own the dataset

Twins, locations and looks stay with the operation.

04

The next one costs less

What was built once is drawn on again at near-zero marginal cost.

A talent twin contracted before that person was widely known keeps compounding in value as their profile rises, and it does so without anyone going back to the stage.

We compound it. Others rent it.

The opportunity

Daily series and low-cost TV movies.

The highest-volume, highest-frequency content a broadcaster runs, and the place where nobody is bringing hybrid production yet.

Open field

An open field

Virtual production has gone to prestige drama and to advertising. The daily schedule, which is where the volume actually is, has been left alone.

And AI opens the map

Consistent, lip-synced dubbing lets one series be released natively across markets at once. A story crossing Jakarta and Madrid, shot once, released in both.

In-content advertisingthe catalogue a broadcaster already owns can carry product, location and talent placement inserted afterwards, without a reshoot. It is the same engine described on the AI Studio page, pointed at content that already exists.

The model

Capability, not equipment.

06 / The modelLayer · Footage
Capability

Rent, never sell

The industry already works this way.

The highest-end camera systems in cinema have been rental-only for decades. A stage follows the same logic with more reason, because what a broadcaster needs is the capability and the result, not a depreciating inventory.

Operated together

Regional partners run it.

Each installation is operated with a partner who knows the market, with our people inside the operation carrying the method forward until it runs on its own.

Built with ARRIMR Box is built with ARRI as a commercial partner. The terms of that agreement are not published.

Footprint

Four studios, one methodology.

Built with regional operators, and the proof points that shaped both the technology and the model before taking it further.

MR Box

Proof beats persuasion.

A deck can argue. A stage in production, running and delivering, does not have to. The shortest route to a decision is to come and see one work.
